Watercolor & Gouache: Land, Sky, and Sea
Hosted by Lindsey Fyfe
Saturday, April 25th
11:00am – 2:00pm
Find yourself in awe of watercolor illustrations in your instagram feed? Learn how with Lindsey Fyfe! This workshop is an introduction to painting with water media, with a focus on watercolor, in a fun, all-levels studio environment. Students will use water-based media including watercolor and gouache (opaque watercolor), to learn techniques to best represent the natural world through painting. We will practice fundamentals like color mixing, textures, glazing, and controlling the transparency/opacity of your paint to represent land, sea and skyscapes in imaginative and abstracted ways.
Bring a reference photo of a place you love to use as a springboard for your creativity. No painting experience required. All materials provided but students may bring any favorite brushes, pigments, or tools. Make a gift, stationery, or a painting to hang on the wall, or simply enjoy the day honing your painting skills.
