Mark Twain Art Print

Mark Twain, known around town as Sam Clemens, is one of Hartford’s most famous residents. He lived on Farmington Avenue with his family for seventeen years, and wrote some of his most famous works, including “The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer” and “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” while calling Hartford home. Connecticut artist George Nowak was known for his portraits, and Hartford Prints! has partnered with George’s daughter, Sara, to produce our “Mark Twain by George Nowak” art print. These fun, neon letterpress art prints celebrate the work of two fine Connecticut gentlemen.

A note from Sara Nowak: Acclaimed local artist George Nowak produced countless illustrations of cultural icons throughout his career. Many Connecticut residents recognize his pen and ink work from the Hartford Courant and the New Britain Herald. Countless more recognize George’s work through the more personal avenue of having been his students. It is my mission as his daughter to keep my father’s talent and memory alive, and I could think of no better partner than Hartford Prints! I hope you enjoy this special edition reprint of George’s Mark Twain for many years.
